Dopamine is a neurotransmitter which helps control the brain’s reward and pleasure centers. In this brand new study using overweight teenage girls (a risky population), researchers found that eating a high protein breakfast reduces cravings for sweets later on.
The people experience a dramatic decline in cravings for sweet foods when they eat breakfast. However, breakfasts that are high in protein also reduced cravings for savory - or high-fat - foods.
