Ever thought that being stuck by a needle would make your blood pressure go down? If they’re acupuncture needles placed appropriately they sure can!
High blood pressure is a common problem and very frightening for those people suffering from the condition. They often wind up on medications, these medications often have side effects, some serious.
For many, acupuncture can lower blood pressure with almost no side effects.
A U.S. study, conducted at the Susan-Samueli Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of California, found:
“The results revealed that acupuncture can significantly lower blood pressure in individuals with mild to moderate high blood pressure. It took about a month before there was a significant reduction in blood pressure, but the reductions in blood pressure persisted after the acupuncture sessions were completed.
“About 70 percent of people with high blood pressure will respond well to acupuncture. It is a safe and simple procedure that may help to reduce the need for medications.”
